A Biography of the fourth Shi'ah Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain (as) Zain al-Abidin

This book explores the life of Imam Sajjad (‘a), elucidating his attributes as well as his political and social stances. The author is of the opinion that encroachment of foreign cultures from newly annexed territories into the Islamic society as well as the neglect of moral virtues due to materialism are two reasons behind the distinctive supplicatory method of Imam Zayn al-‘Abidin (‘a). The character of this great Imam, the various stages of his life especially after ‘Ashura, and the circumstances surrounding his martyrdom are discussed in the first section of the book. The following chapter discusses the prevailing conditions of the age, the Imam’s jihadi plans, and the unique features of his life. The final section reports the scientific heritage of the Imam in areas such as exegesis, hadith, beliefs, argumentation, jurisprudence, law, literature, and morals. It also introduces the book Sahifah Sajjadiah.
