Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin (as) Vol-7
Ali ibn Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, known as Imam Sajjad and Zayn al-Abidin (38-95 AH), was the fourth Imam of the Shiites. His Imamate lasted for 34 years. Imam Sajjad (a.s.) was present at the Karbala incident; however, due to illness, he did not participate in the war. After the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (a.s.), Umar ibn Saad's army took him to Kufa and Syria along with the prisoners of Karbala. Imam Sajjad's sermon in Syria made people aware of the position of the Ahl al-Bayt. The incident of Hurrah, the Repentance Movement, and the Mukhtar Uprising occurred during the time of Imam Sajjad (a.s.). A collection of Imam Sajjad's supplications and prayers is collected in the book Sahifa al-Sajjadiyah. Risala al-Huqoq includes 50 rights from the rights of God and servants, people and rulers, parents and children, neighbors, and ... from his speeches. According to Shiite traditions, Imam Sajjad (a.s.) was poisoned on the orders of Walid ibn Abdul Malik. His grave is in the Baqi cemetery next to the graves of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (a.s.), Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.). Imam Sajjad (a.s.) had many virtues. For example, there are many reports of his worship and helping the poor. The Imam also had a high status among the Sunnis, who praised his knowledge, worship and piety.
