Imam Ḥasan Ibn ʿAlī (ʿa, an honorific meaning ʿalayhi al-salām — “peace be upon him”) was the first grandson of the Prophet Muḥammad (peace be upon him and his Family) and the second Imam of the Ahl al-Bayt (ʿa, an honorific meaning ʿalayhim al-salām — “peace be upon them”).
