A welcome addition to the regrettably small inventory of theological writings in Arabic from that period.The reader can enjoy a good edition of the Arabic text, and consult the annotated translation for a clarification of the theological problems involved. A major contribution to the study of al-Kasim ibn Ibrahim and his theology, an invaluable addition to our knowledge of Islamic theology. The volume have its firm place in the study of classical Islamic thought and of comparative theology. The translator deserves praise for introducing an important work from the Muslim medieval period-the golden age of Muslim philosophy.
