This book is a selection of speeches and statement of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. All these speeches were delivered in various occasions in Persian; and now, to made them accessible for researchers interested in the History of the Islamic Revolution, these speeches together with some necessary information are translated  into English. This collection, in fact, facilitates study in this context and makes it possible for the readers and policy - makers to have better access to these valuable resources.

The developments taken place in Iran over the past two decades have drawn the attention of writers and researchers to the extent that thousands of books and articles have been written about these developments in various countries of the world. Research about these developments are still going on.

It goes without saying that the impact of the developments that have taken place in Iran on international relations and international system has been considerable. These development call for a more scientific studies in order to answer to some of the questions that have been preoccupying the researchers over the past two decades.

The present study is an attempt to study the processes, characteristics and features of the developments in Iran over the past two decades, particularly the reasons for the Islamic Revolution of Iran. The main approach of the authors in the present study is sociological. The present study may be an impartial source for the researchers who are interested in undertaking further studies.

Contemporary Iran (Political System)

This book, which includes a collection of speeches by Ayatollah Khamenei, has been compiled and compiled with the aim of familiarizing foreign audiences with the cultural views of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. The book consists of eight chapters, and each chapter is divided into sub-topics. The first chapter is about culture and cultural issues, which include the definition of culture, the importance of culture, the foundations of national culture, and cultural invasion. The second chapter is about Islamic culture, in which Islamic education, enjoining good and forbidding evil, the Abrahamic Hajj, Islamic festivals (Maba'ath, Ghadir, Fitr), and waiting and Mahdism are considered. The third chapter is about the culture of the Islamic Revolution and its foundations. The fourth chapter is about art and its types (music, theater, cinema, novels). The fifth chapter includes a series of speeches about the Persian language and literature. The sixth chapter is about propaganda and mass media. The seventh chapter is about the situation of women in Iran, women and Islamic culture, the veil, the role of Muslim women, and the role of women in the Islamic Revolution. The eighth and final chapter is about knowledge and scientists in Iran.

The Cultural Viewpoints of the Leader of the Islamic  Revolution of Iran

Dr. Seyed Sadruddin Mousavi Jashni was born in Shiraz in 1957. He received his diploma in natural sciences and then studied political science and English at the University of the Punjab, India. After receiving his master’s degree in sociology, he was accepted to the doctoral program in political science at the same university. In this program, he studied the geopolitical relations between the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. Several articles from his doctoral thesis have been published in international journals. After returning to Iran, in addition to teaching as a faculty member at Iranian universities, he began writing books in English, translating works from Persian to English, and simultaneously translating international seminars in Iran and abroad. He has published four books in English, translated eleven works from Persian to English, and sixteen scientific-research articles in English: "Religion and Politics in Today's Iran," "Political Islam: A Bed and Multiple Dreams," and "Typology of Contemporary Islamic Movements" are among his works. Among his translations, the following works can be mentioned:
Translation of a collection of speeches by the Supreme Leader entitled "Hadith of Wilayat" in two volumes, "Cultural Perspectives of the Supreme Leader", "The Avoidability of War", "Iran After the Revolution", "From the Literary Past of Iran", "Biography of Parvin Etesami" and "War: Regaining Stability". His three main areas of interest are political thought in Islam, Indian studies and studies of the Persian Gulf region.
In addition to teaching and supervising student theses and dissertations, he has authored sixteen articles in these three areas and published them in prestigious international and domestic journals. Dr. Seyyed Sadr al-Din Mousavi is a member of the academic staff of the Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution Research Institute and the editorial board of the quarterly Political Thought in Islam.. He is an associate professor in the Department of Political Thought in Islam at the Imam Khomeini (PBUH) and Islamic Revolution Research Institute. He is also the editor of the journal Political Thought in Islam.
