The Muslim Nation today is experiencing a blessed awakening in all aspects of its affairs, one that has been aroused by the efforts of Muslims throughout the globe. This is despite the onslaught of the disbelievers against Islam whether that be military or through their powerful media apparatus. In these often difficult times, we find many Muslims returning to their Din and embracing it with vigour and enthusiasm. However the astute observe will find that there are many problems that hinder its progress, problems that have caused some of the scholars to lay down some guidelines that the youth of this blessed awakening should adhere to and follow. It should also be noted that if the Islamic guidelines are not strictly adhered to, and the youth are left to be driven by their emotions alone, then surely this awakening will result in destroying more than it will build!

Muhammad bin Saleh Uthaymeen (1421-1347 AH), commentator, usulist and one of the contemporary Wahhabi scholars and one of the students of Abd al-Aziz bin Baz, the author of the books "Al-Aqeedah" and "Al-Usul min 'Alam al-Usul".

Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Saleh bin Muhammad bin Sulaiman bin Abdurrahman Al-Uthaymeen Tamimi Najdi, known as Muhammad Saleh bin Uthaymeen, was born on June 14, 1925, equal to Ramadan 27, 1347 AH, in the city of Anizeh, located in Qassim province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Education and professors
He learned Wahhabi beliefs, jurisprudence and Arabic syntax from Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz. He studied Tafsir and Usul al-Farid under Abdurrahman bin Nasser al-Saadi. Abdulrahman bin Ali bin Oudan, Muhammad Amin Shenqati, Abdulaziz bin Nasser Rashid and Abdulrahman Afrika were among his teachers in Arabic literature and rhetoric.

In 1330 A.H., he went to Riyadh and studied laws and regulations under Abdul Aziz bin Baz. In 1370 AH, he started teaching at Anizeh Islamic University.

In 1376 AH, after the death of Abd al-Rahman Saadi, he was appointed as the imam and Friday preacher of Anizeh Grand Mosque. After some time, Ibn Uthaymeen was appointed as the preacher of Masjid al-Haram in Mecca. In the years 1384 and 1385 AH, he gave lectures at Umm al-Qari University of Makkah on issues of jurisprudence, belief, hadith and interpretation, and began to describe the works of Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim. Then he was chosen as the president of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Sharia University in Qassim. He was also a member of the Council of Sharia and Principles of Qassim University and the Board of Islamic Scholars of Saudi Arabia.
