At a time when secularist thinkers, jurists and rulers alike are strongly driving the Muslim youth, male and female, into free mixing in their social life: some Muslim thinkers and scholars have over reacted by calling for the complete seclusion of women and their prevention from taking any role outside of the home. In such times the full understanding of the social life in Islam, supported by the evidences from the Quran and sunnah becomes vital.

The Social System In Islam

The capitalist states adopt the doctrine of detaching the Deen from life and politics, and they work actively to spread this doctrine, and to establish its rules upon the Muslim Ummah. They also work to mislead the Ummah, and convince her that politics and the Deen do not mix, and that politics means realism and being content with the current situation and the impossibility of changing it. All this is to ensure that the Ummah remains under the yoke of the states of Kufr, oppression and tyranny, and unable to envisage the path for revival. In addition they work to alienate Muslims from the Islamic political groups and from involvement in politics. This is because the Kufr states know that there is no way to strike against the West’s political thoughts and rules except by political action,and by being involved in politics on the basis of Islam. This campaign to alienate the Muslims from politics and politicians has reached the extent of depicting politics as contradictory to the greatness and spirituality of Islam.

This excellent book is translated from the original Arabic book 'Nidham ul Islam’ by Sheikh Taqiuddin An Nabahani, an Islamic jurist, ‘alim, writer and the founder of Hizb ut-Tahrir - the largest Islamic global political party under a single leadership.Excerpt: “Man revives according to what he carries of thought (fikr) about man, life and the universe, and about their relationship, as a whole, with what preceded this life and what comes after it. Hence, in order for man to revive, it is necessary to radically and comprehensively change his current thought (fikr) and generate another thought (fikr) for him. This is because it is the thought (fikr) that generates the concepts about things and consolidates them”.

The System of Islam

The Islamic state is not a dream, nor is it a figment of the imagination, for it had dominated and influenced history for more than thirteen hundred years. It was indeed a reality which provided the most successful system for society – political, economic, social, and judicial and so on. It was a state that included Muslims and non – Muslims both living in harmony until its destruction in 1924 at the hands of the West and its treacherous agents with in the state. Today, the Muslims worldwide are eagerly working for the re-establishment of this state, and they are eager for the return of the Islamic glory.
This book essentially highlights the methodology of Muhammad (saw) in his struggle to establish the State in Madinah, and it focuses on the rise and expansion of the Islamic State after his (saw) death. The book goes on to explain the factors that led to the decline and then the tragic end of the Islamic State in 1924 CE.

Muhammad Taqi al-Din bin Ibrahim bin Mustafa bin Isma'il bin Yusuf al-Nabhani (Arabic: محمد تقي الدين بن إبراهيم بن مصطفى بن إسماعيل بن يوسف النبهاني; 1914 – December 11, 1977) was a Palestinian Islamic scholar who founded the pan-Islamist and fundamentalist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Biography
Al-Nabhani was born in 1909 in a village by the name of Ijzim near Haifa in the Ottoman Empire and belonged to Bani Nabhan tribe. His father was a lecturer in Sharia law and his mother was also an Islamic scholar and his grandfather was the famous Palestinian scholar Yusuf al-Nabhani.al-Nabhani studied Sharia law at Al-Azhar University and the Dar-ul-Ulum college of Cairo. He graduated in 1931 and returned to Palestine. There he was first a teacher and then as a jurist, rising to Sharia judge in the court of appeal.[4] Disturbed by the creation of the state of Israel and the 1948 Arab–Israeli War and occupation of Palestine, he founded the Hizb ut-Tahrir party in 1953. The party was immediately banned in Jordan. Al-Nabhani was banned from returning to Jordan and settled in Beirut. He died on December 20, 1977.

Political philosophy
Al-Nabhani proclaimed that the depressed political condition of Muslims in the contemporary world stemmed from the abolition of the Caliphate in 1924. al-Nabhani was critical of the way the Middle East had been carved up into nation states allied with various imperial powers. Other causes of stagnation included the Ottoman Empire's closing of the doors of ijtihad, its failure to understand "the intellectual and legislative side of Islam", and neglect of the Arabic language.

In his most famous works, written in the early 1950s, al-Nabhani expressed a radical disillusionment with the secular powers that had failed to protect Palestinian nationalism. He argued for a new caliphate that would be brought about by "peaceful politics and ideological subversion" and eventually cover the world replacing all nation states. Its political and economic order would be founded on Islamic principles, not materialism that, in his view, was the outcome of capitalist economies.

Al-Nabhani also wrote The Economic System in Islam, a book on Islamic views on economic principles and the contradictions between them and Western-based capitalism and socialism. It was published in Arabic in 1953 and translated into English and a number of other languages.[citation needed]

Influence
Hizb ut-Tahrir did not attract a large following in the countries where it was established. Despite this, al-Nabhani's works have become an important part of contemporary Islamist literature.
