Dear Reader Once again we find ourselves compelled to talk about the postage problem which has aggravated lately especially with respect to periodical magazines. Once again, the postal service authority raise the postal rates to an unprecedented or even unbelievable level. How could the postal rates be raised up to 12 times, knowing that its was quite a burden in the first place? Could it be rational that the postage cost alone would exceed the price of our magazine in many countries or only equal to it in the other countries, whose magazine prices are relatively high? This is exactly what has happened lately, and which constituted a great shock even to the magazines that do not suffer of any financial difficulties. In this respect, we find ourselves, questioning the fate of the various slogans that we hear about Lebanon being the country of culture spreading and creativity… Finally we regret to say that we are left with no other means, but to ask you, dear reader, to contribute in carrying some of the burden with us, in case the authorities insist on implementing the new increase.
