DEAR READER And at last… All the institutions working in the mass media sector have signed a voluntary pact of honor that prohibits the publishing or broadcasting of any violent or licentious scene. This pact that was sponsored by the Ministry of Information was concluded after most of these firms whether newspapers, radio or television stations have reached an precedent level of aggression against the family morals and those of the younger generations, filling their minds and senses with everything that stimulates their animal instincts and arouses the spirit of evil and aggression and undermines their values and virtues. Thus, this limited step is but a belated response to the resentment of the public and the demands of many religious and social organizations, as well as the morally and religiously committed institutions, including our magazine which has continuously raised this issue… But as we wait to see the effects of this pact, although what we have so far seen is discouraging, we feel that we ought to point out that we cannot rely on this partial step. For there is a big difference between the concepts and standards through which most of those who signed the pact view the issue of morals and between those who adhere to the noble values and virtues…. We should therefore continue to exert every effort to put an end to this moral degradation in our society, and beware of those responsible of creating and encouraging it.   Download   Source: alhassanain.com
