A Selection of the Works and Conduct of Imam Khomeini about the Qur’an
Imam Khomeini (s) was a man who proclaimed monotheism [tawhid] in the present age. At the age of being alien with the spirit of love and faith, he could form a great resurrection with his Christ-like breath and rise against idolatry and polytheism. He was infatuated with the Quran. Through reciting and reflecting upon its verses, he came out of the dark house of the self and with his holy breath followed up the prophetic and Alawite invitation to the revelation truth, justice law, and the love‘s path. He introduces the Quran as a book of man-molding and guidance which meets all man‘s needs, deals with his individual and social issues, opposes the oppression, wakens man, and causes man to stand against oppressors. He regards the grandeur and dignity of the Muslims in the past being as a result of acting upon the Quran, their present helplessness and feebleness for the sake of their separation from this Holy Book, and their present life and honor hinging upon their referring to the Quran.
