Hajj the Duties and Rulings

Short Details about the rulings and duties of Hajj and Umrah. The TAMATTU’ Hajj is obligatory upon anyone whose hometown is at a distance of more than 16 Farsakh or 88 km from the Holy City of Makkah. (Each Farsakh is about 5.5 km.) The QERAAN & EFRAAD Hajj is obligatory upon those who live in the Holy City of Makkah or at a town less than 16 Farsakh / 88 km from it. • He who has to do the TAMATTU’ Hajj, must do the Umrah of TAMATTU’ before the Hajj of TAMATTU’, whereas he who must do the QERAAN or the EFRAAD Hajj, performs the Umrah after the Hajj. The difference between the QERAAN & EFRAAD Hajj is that in the QERAAN Hajj one has his/her sacrifice with him, but if the HAAJJ does not bring give a sacrifice, in this case the Hajj is referred to as the EFRAAD Hajj
